Our Associate of Applied Science – Technical Studies: Specialization in HVAC-R Technology offers work-based learning opportunities and real-world experiences with courses in mechanical codes, heat pumps, direct digital controllers and more. The associate degree offers work-based learning opportunities, providing real-world experience in the industry. Virginia Peninsula also offers an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificate that satisfies the classroom requirements for Journeyman licensing classroom contact hours.

This degree serves the needs of business and industry for advanced studies in air conditioning and refrigeration. The program provides training for estimators, managers, superintendents, and advanced technicians who want to develop a broad base of background for career advancement.
Articulation Agreement: Students who are interested in transferring to Old Dominion University to continue the Technical Studies: HVAC-R to Occupational and Technical Studies plan should meet with Academic Advising early to determine and discuss requirements.
