The Architectural Technology Career Studies Certificate at Virginia Peninsula Community College helps students qualify for entry-level jobs with companies that use Architectural CAD software. Through the program, students will become proficient in industry-standard software, understand construction materials and methods, and read blueprints.

After completing the program, students can have the option to transfer their credits to our Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology – Associate of Applied Science Degree or continue their studies at a four-year university. All courses in this certificate program are available online.
Within the program, students will be exposed to a variety of classes to prepare them for the workplace or for transfer, including CAD 151 – Engineering Drawing Fundamentals I, MEC 113 – Materials and Processes of Industry, and CAD 241 – Parametric Solid Modeling I.
