Academic & Student Success Center

Building started on the College’s original structure in 1967, and soon it will be replaced. While it has served generations of learners from across the Virginia Peninsula, the buildings known collectively as Diggs-Moore-Harrison are all scheduled to be demolished, paving the way for a new state-of-the-art structure that will house classrooms, offices, and more.

The new Academic & Student Success Center will house the Hampton Campus’ One-Stop Shop for enrollment and student support services. The Center will also showcase our Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Networking programs along the second floor’s Innovation Corridor. The Center will contain multipurpose learning commons — areas that blend study spaces, technology hubs, and resource centers, offering a more holistic educational environment that supports both formal teaching and informal learning. They are designed to be inviting and versatile, catering to group projects, tutoring sessions, and independent study.

The Center will also be an additional asset for the Peninsula community. The facility will house a beautiful banquet hall, accommodating 250 seated guests, a warming kitchen, and a green room. Local partners will have an affordable space to host conferences, fundraising galas, professional development events, and more.

Construction of the Academic & Student Success Center is expected to begin in 2025.
