Kecoughtan Hall

Kecoughtan Hall

Kecoughtan Hall, located on the Hampton Campus, is the main building where many student events take place and serves as a hub for enrollment-related activities, including signing up for classes and handling other registration needs.

Built as the second part of the original construction of the Hampton Campus in the 1970s, Kecoughtan Hall houses the Academic Advising offices, the Bookstore, Military and Veteran Services, and Financial Aid.

Kecoughtan Hall also serves as the main hub for student activities on the Hampton Campus. The building is home to Gator’s Cafe — a multi-use space which has served as a dance hall, cafeteria, or large meeting space; Library and Tutoring Services, offices for student organizations, the Student Government Association, and The Shop.

Kecoughtan Hall used to be named Griffin and Wythe Halls, and viewed as two separate buildings. This was changed in 2023, as the College renamed (and merged) the two buildings after the Kecoughtan Tribe, the early settlers of the land where the Hampton Campus is located.
