Virginia Peninsula Community College’s Bridge Program is a re-imagining of our transfer articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities. The Bridge Program focuses on individuals who intend to start their college education at VPCC and transfer to a regional, baccalaureate degree-granting institution.

Christopher Newport University
The VPCC Bridge to CNU Program is a guaranteed admission agreement program established exclusively for students from Virginia Peninsula Community College to develop and grow pathways to CNU by granting early access to advising, career development, success support services, and experiences while reducing time-to-degree for students interested in studying: Students must be pursuing a transfer-oriented associate degree including the Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or Associate of Fine Arts.
Students will have access to a number of benefits designed to help transfer students succeed, such as:
- Need-based financial aid
- Waived application fees
- Priority consideration for housing
- Assistance with planning courses
- Guaranteed acceptance of all transferable credits from VPCC
- Built-in reverse transfer component to earn an associates degree if not earned prior to transfer to CNU
- Early access to CNU academic resources, campus facilities, and academic advising
Students interested in participating in this guaranteed admission program must submit their Letter of Intent before their application to CNU. However, it is recommended that the Letter of Intent is submitted as soon as possible.
ECPI University
The Bridge to ECPI Program is a collaborative agreement between Virginia Peninsula Community College (VPCC) and ECPI University that provides students with a clear, structured pathway to earning a bachelor’s degree in select fields.
Benefits of the Program:
- Guaranteed admission to ECPI for students who meet the academic requirements.
- Reduced tuition rate for students with an approved Letter of Intent
- Application and Registration fees waivers
- Accelerated degree completion options available for students transferring from VPCC.
- Access to ECPI University resources, activities and facilities, including the University library, sporting events, and major scholarly events.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Completion of an associate degree or a set number of transferable credits from VPCC.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA requirement of 2.5 or higher.
- Enrollment in an eligible program of study at VPCC that aligns with ECPI transfer pathways.
- Submission of a Letter of Intent prior to applying to ECPI.
Students should submit the Letter of Intent as soon as possible, to take full advantage of the benefits of this partnership.
George Mason University
ADVANCE is a dual-admission transfer partnership between George Mason University and Virginia Peninsula Community College. ADVANCE is designed to streamline the transfer process for VPCC students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
What are the benefits of joining the ADVANCE program?

- Dedicated Coaches – Mason’s coaches provide continuous support and guidance, from enrollment at VPCC to graduation at GMU.

The program is available to students at VPCC in Virginia who are in good academic standing and who meet these enrollment requirements:
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average for students with college credit
- Enrolled in an associate degree program at a participating community college in Virginia
- Have earned no more than 30 college credits at the time of submission of the Declaration
The 30-credit limit does not include AP, IB, CLEP, or any other earned credit by exam. High school dual enrollment credit and credit earned at other U.S. or international colleges or universities apply to the 30-credit limit. Your community college and Mason have different transfer credit policies. It is important to note that your community college may accept transfer credit that Mason does not accept.

Old Dominion University
The Bridge to ODU Program is a partnership between Virginia Peninsula Community College (VPCC) and Old Dominion University (ODU) designed to provide a seamless transfer experience for students. This program ensures that students who meet specific requirements can transition smoothly to ODU to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
Benefits of the Program:
- Guaranteed admission to ODU for students who meet the program’s GPA and credit hour requirements.
- Personalized academic advising from both VPCC and ODU to ensure transfer success.
- Early access to ODU on-campus workshops and events, such as financial literacy workshops, and faculty spotlights.
- Streamlined credit transfer process, ensuring that students do not lose credits when transitioning.
- Application fee waiver when students are ready to apply to ODU.
- Scholarship opportunities and financial aid guidance for eligible students.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Completion of an associate degree or a minimum number of transferable credits.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Enrollment in an eligible degree program at VPCC that aligns with ODU transfer pathways.
- Submission of a Letter of Intent prior to applying to ODU.
