Student clubs and organizations at Virginia Peninsula Community College offer students with similar interests to connect, meet new people, gain valuable experience, and assume leadership roles. Student Clubs and Organizations are open to currently enrolled students who are interested in supporting the mission.

Ballroom Dance Club

The purpose of the Virginia Peninsula Ballroom Dance Club is to promote an interest in ballroom dancing, to encourage healthy physical activity and to provide an opportunity for students to form friendships through a shared interest in dance. Students from Hampton and the Historic Triangle Campus are encouraged to join the club — dancing takes place in Hampton.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

The InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (also known as InterVarsity) is a newer club actively recruiting members. The purpose of Intervarsity is to serve as a vibrant campus ministry that establishes and advances witnessing communities of students.

InterVarsity is an interdenominational Christian fellowship serving students at VPCC, 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities across the US and Canada, with emphasis on whole-life discipleship, evangelism, and student leadership development. Meetings tale place on both the Hampton Campus and Historic Triangle Campus.

Investment Club

The Investment Club is about all forms of investing. The purpose is to provide networking and education for interested students. Members will be able to learn investment concepts, discuss market conditions, and can apply strategies in investing simulators. Students meet with fellow members who are currently investing and share experiences. They will gain access to club advisors who are experienced in economics, banking, and entrepreneurship. Members will be able to apply what they learn to help them achieve their future financial goals.

National Society of Leadership and Success

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) promotes the development of leadership skills, and helps students discover and achieve their personal aspirations. This foundation of achievement supports members in creating positive change within themselves and in the greater community.

Members must have completed 12 semester hours of Associate degree coursework with a 2.50 – 3.49 GPA and be in good academic standing. Membership is by invitation only.

Student Virginia Education Association

The purposes of the Student Virginia Education Association (SVEA), Virginia Peninsula Chapter are to:

  •  inform and educate its membership on educational issues of immediate and potential importance in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation
  •  Foster and coordinate the development of chapters affiliated with the SVE
  • Provide an opportunity for students to explore education as a profession, to evaluate their own aptitudes, capabilities, interests as prospective professional educators
  • To encourage the selection of education as a profession
  • To strengthen the teaching profession by encouraging pre-professionals to become active members in the United Education Profession
  • To establish a closer relationship between chapters of the SVEA, National Education Association Student Programs (NEASP), Virginia Education Association (VEA) and the National Education Association (NEA)
  • To promote and protect human and civil rights.
