CANCELLED: March 17 Tornado Drill to Test College’s Emergency Alert Processes

March 15, 2020 - This event has been cancelled due to the College's response to COVAID-19

Thomas Nelson Community College will participate in a statewide tornado drill at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17.

During the approximately 10-minute drill, all components of the College's emergency notification process will be activated including e-mail and telephone alerts; College homepage alerts; and Omnilert, which sends text messages to cell phones. Get Omnilert today by registering here.

Also during the drill, those on and near campuses in Hampton and Williamsburg will hear tones and alerts from the College's outdoor messaging towers or "big voice," as termed by Thomas Nelson Police.

Anyone on campus who wishes to participate in the drill should go to the nearest designated "Storm Shelter Safe Area" and remain until receiving notification that the drill has ended. Yellow stickers above doorways indicate these areas throughout campus. Although optional, participation is encouraged.
