Emergency Assistance Grants Available from College's Foundation
During these unprecedented and challenging times, the Thomas Nelson Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. is aware that many in our College community, students, faculty and staff are experiencing unique educational and financial hardships related to COVID-19. We want to take this opportunity to remind our students and employees of existing emergency assistance made possible by donors' generous gifts to support Thomas Nelson Community College. These funds were developed in 2010 to assist Thomas Nelson students and employees with emergency grants of up to $250 per request to meet basic needs and to enable you to thrive educationally and professionally.
Realizing that students and employees are learning and working remotely, we have created electronic applications so that students and employees can apply for emergency assistance online at Student Emergency Assistance Application and Employee Emergency Assistance Application. Please carefully review all criteria, complete the online application, attach the required documentation, and submit as directed in the instructions. While basic needs and unexpected emergencies are the priority focus of these grants, we understand that students and employees have also incurred financial expenses as a result of transitioning to online learning and teleworking. During this exceptional time, the Foundation will consider emergency requests from students and employees to assist with these expenses as well with appropriate documentation.
The Thomas Nelson Educational Foundation is here to help with the resources provided by the many donors who support the College and our students. As always, emergency grants are dependent upon available funding to support and awarded on a first come, first serve basis to eligible applicants.
