Thomas Nelson's tuition for fall 2020 will remain at today's rate of $160.20 per credit hour. Maintaining the current in-state tuition and mandatory fees for the upcoming semester is in line with a unanimous decision by the State Board for Community Colleges.

The College will also maintain its existing tuition rate for out-of-state students in accord with the State Board which sets rates for 23 schools within Virginia's Community Colleges (VCCS). This marks the second consecutive year the Board has voted to hold tuition and fees steady for the coming fall.

Thomas Nelson's tuition and mandatory fees are approximately one-third of the comparable costs of attending Virginia's public four-year colleges and universities. College officials are committed to ensuring access to high quality affordable higher education for all Peninsula residents.

TUITION DIFFERENTIALS

For the second year in a row, there were no increases to the tuition differential rates charged at Thomas Nelson and seven others (Germanna, John Tyler, Northern Virginia, Piedmont Virginia, Reynolds, Tidewater and Virginia Western). Tuition differential rates allow colleges to address unique and specific institutional priorities.
