A Message from President Towuanna Porter Brannon

Dear Thomas Nelson Community,

We are living through a moment in American history that leaves me deeply saddened and dismayed. The assault on the U.S. Capitol and continued calls to use violence as a mechanism to undermine and disrupt our democratic institutions and processes, is incomprehensible.

As an institution of higher education, citizens, students, scholars, and leaders, we encourage robust discussion, examination, and exchange of differing ideas with civility and mutual respect. I steadfastly believe that our common interests, values, and aspirations are greater than the factors that divide us.

Thomas Nelson Community College will continue exploring and advancing dialogue that builds bridges and promotes healing. I am optimistic that we, as each generation before us, will continue to strive for a more perfect union.
