Free Financial Aid Workshop Feb. 5, Community Invited
Super Saturday, a free financial aid workshop for college-bound and returning students, takes place Feb. 5 at Thomas Nelson (becoming Virginia Peninsula Community College).
During the 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. event, the College's Financial Aid team will assist attendees in Hampton at Wythe Hall in the computer lab next to the library and at the Historic Triangle campus in Room 233. Representatives from Admissions, Academic Advising, and faculty from each division will also be on hand.
In preparation for the event, parents (for dependent students) and students are asked to visit FSA ID website and create an FSA ID, which serves as an electronic signature and will expedite completion of the FAFSA. Those who already have an FSA ID can skip this step. Plan to bring the FSA ID username and password to the event.
To complete the FAFSA during Super Saturday, students and parents (for dependent students) must bring the following:
- Social Security numbers (for students and parents/spouse)
- Driver's license (if available)
- All 2020 W-2 forms
- 2020 federal income tax returns (if filed)
- 2020 family's untaxed income records
- Family's current investment records
- Alien registration card (if not a U.S. citizen)
The Financial Aid team is excited to serve the community on Super Saturday. For more information about the Feb. 5 event, call the Student Support Center 1-855-877-3945 or email financialaid@vpcc.edu.
