Athletes Register for Fall Semester
New athletics director and men's basketball coach Chris Moore talked with athletes and their parents during an Aug.11 registration seminar at the Hampton campus in Wythe Hall.
In addition to registering for fall classes, the athletes were able to meet representatives from advising, financial aid, the Office of Accessbility, Great Expectations, Single Stop, Student Life and Leadership and TRiO. Moore said nearly 40 student-athletes participated.
In late April, the College announced plans to expand athletics by adding six sports in the next three years.
The College currently fields three intercollegiate teams - baseball, men's basketball and women's basketball. Following softball and women's volleyball in 2022-23, two more teams will be added for the 2023-24 academic year, and two more for 2024-25. The College is examining which sports teams to add after the 2022-23 year. Possibilities include soccer, track and field, and cross country.
