Free Online Mental Health Care Open to Students

Did you know there is around-the-clock access to free online mental health care for students?

Called TimelyCare, the telehealth service comes as part of continuing efforts by Virginia's Community Colleges (VCCS) to prioritize the health and well-being of students at its 23 schools.

By directing students to TimelyCare, Virginia Peninsula Community College faculty and staff have access to support that empowers them to help students achieve a sense of well-being, live healthier lifestyles and improve their mental health.

The service lets students see the profiles, faces and specialty care details of diverse licensed physicians and counselors. They can choose to meet with a specific provider or select the first available. Typical consultations begin within 5-10 minutes of logging in.

Whether anxious or overwhelmed, students can talk to a licensed provider from their smartphones or any web-enabled device. Licensed providers are available to offer mental health support via phone or secure video visits. Check out the FAQs here to learn more.

How can students access TimelyCare?
Students can register at https://app.timelycare.com/auth/login using their name and school email address. They may also access TimelyCare via MyVPCC and download the app. From anywhere in the United states, students will then have visits from any web-enabled device - smartphone, laptop or desktop.

Who can use TimelyCare?
It is open to any Virginia Peninsula student.

What services are available?
The three available services are:

• TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand access to a mental health professional to talk about anything at anytime
• Scheduled Counseling: scheduled options to speak to a licensed counselor
• Group Sessions: Weekly guided meditation and yoga group sessions, plus specialized discussions throughout the year.

How much does a visit cost?
TimelyCare services are free to all students.
