Grant Opportunity for OER Available

Virginia's VIVA Open Adopt Grants is accepting applications with a Dec. 7 deadline. The Request for Proposal (RFP) and application form are accessible here.

The grants provide $2000 awards to individual instructors hoping to adopt an already existing open resource. Funding will support the time it takes to integrate existing open or no-cost materials into a syllabus, and to ensure results of those efforts are widely available to Virginia educators.

Team and departmental adoptions, as well as individual or team projects seeking to adapt or create new open educational resources, should apply for the next round of the larger scale VIVA Open Course Grants. That RFP and application will become available in December, with a likely deadline of early February, notes Terry Wagner, Virginia Peninsula Community College's grants manager.
