More than 50 potential Virginia Peninsula Community College athletes showed up Wednesday to register for fall classes at an event called "One Stop."
VPCC Athletic Director Chris Moore organized the gathering, which provided on-site assistant for the athletes to register for classes, finalize the admission and enrollment process, and learn about the support programs available to them. On hand in Wythe Hall Gallery were representatives from financial aid, admissions, advising, Single Stop, The Shop and TRiO.
"It helps ease the enrollment process, and makes them feel engaged," Moore said of the athletes.
He added it also benefits the coaches, who were able to help solve problems before classes and their sports start.
"It gives coaches ease of mind," Moore said.
