Eleven students, along with their parents or guardians, attended VPCC’s dual enrollment EMT orientation Tuesday, April 30, at the Historic Triangle Campus. Laura Rondeau, an instructor in the EMS and Fire Science program, led the session, which was for students in the Williamsburg-James City County and York County school districts. The evening included a tour of the classrooms, labs and facilities the students will use when their classes start in the fall.
Also offering guidance and tips were Michelle Alexander, interim dean of the Public Safety, Allied Health, and Human Services division and an assistant professor in Health Sciences, and Linda Hubbard, a dual enrollment coordinator at the College.
Alexander noted the students who attended the event have been accepted into the program and will go through the process of applying to the college and registering for the course this summer.
