Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science

The Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science program at Virginia Peninsula Community College is designed to make sure students are knowledgeable about the newest and latest in vehicle repair and maintenance. Through this course, students will take classes like AUT 125 – Anti-Pollution Systems, AUT 236 –  Automotive Climate Control, AUT 245 – Automotive Electronics, and many others.

When completing this program, students will walk out as a mechanic, but they will also earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. Our Automotive Technology program is also designed for the continuing education needs of the trained mechanic who is already working in the field.

Course Offerings: Automotive courses in this program are offered at the Hampton Campus’ Automotive Lab in the daytime and evening.

Special notes: The Automotive Program at Virginia Peninsula Community College is open entry/open exit, meaning that students are able to start in any semester. For specific questions about the Automotive Technology Certificate program, please contact the Automotive Program Head at 757-825-3859.

Articulation Agreements: Students who are interested in transferring to Old Dominion University to continue the Automotive Technology (909) Associate of Applied Science Degree plan should meet with a member of our Academic Advising team as they begin their studies to discuss requirements.
