Virginia Peninsula Community College is proud to offer Career Studies Certificate in Child Development. This certificate is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position or to upgrade skills of those who are currently working with young children.
Students in the 16-credit program will take Child Development courses like CHD 120 – Introduction to Early Childhood Education, CHD 145 – Teaching Art, Music and Movement to Children, and CHD 205 – Guiding the Behavior of Children, and a few others to complete the requirements for the certificate.

In less than a year, students can be qualified for entry-level childcare positions with our Career Studies Certificate in Child Development. Those currently in the field will learn new skills that may help them advance their career in the field, should they decide to enroll in this program.
