Early Childhood Development Assistant

Virginia Peninsula Community College’s Early Childhood Development Assistant program is designed to prepare people as early childhood teacher assistants. The certificate will allow students who are in the field to upgrade their skills. The objectives of the program are to prepare people as teacher assistants in childcare and preschool centers, or as family childcare providers.

As part of the requirements to graduate with this certificate, students will be required to complete a coordinated internship. This will ensure that students are provided a supervised field experience.
