HR Strong Welding MTT Level 1

This 120 hour/6-week  SMAW MTT Welding course is designed to enhance skills with the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick welding) process. Emphasis is placed on advanced manipulative skills with SMAW electrodes on varying joint geometry. Upon completion, students should be able to perform fillet welds on carbon steel with prescribed SMAW electrodes in the horizontal, vertical, and overhead fillet weld positions (2F, 3F, and 4F).

Students will be able to perform these tasks processes efficiently and safely, accurately setup and minor troubleshooting of equipment, and acquire a basic understanding of carbon arc gouging in accordance to industry standards and instructor requirements. One American Welding Society (AWS) Certification attempt is included in the course.
