Earning the Information Security Professional Certificate demonstrates your knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing computers, the essentials of networking, TCP/IP, and security topics, such as communication security, infrastructure security, and cryptography. This program prepares you to sit for the CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ exams. This program uses the official CompTIA curriculum and is taught by experienced professionals.  Notice: All CompTIA certifications acquired spring 2011 or later are no longer good for life and will require recertification on annual basis.

Student is required to take the certification exam within 60-days of course end date and submit successful credential copy immediately after to the Virginia Peninsula Office of Workforce Credentials & Continuing Education, 600 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA 23666 or scans can be emailed to Business, Information Technology, & Health Sciences Director, Eddie Swain.

A+ Certified Technician

This course provides you with the technical information and hands-on practice needed to take two required A+ certification examinations. Required textbook and two exam vouchers are included for both portions of the exam.

Network+ Certified Professional

This course provides the fundamentals of networking technology and practices that will prepare you to take the Network+ certification exam. Required textbook and one exam voucher are included.

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of A+ Certified Technician or equivalent.

Security+ Certified Professional

This course prepares you to successfully configure, execute, construct, and troubleshoot network security to ensure the threat of viruses is minimized or negated.
