The G3 Tuition Assistance Program helps students pay for college while preparing them for promising careers. G3 assistance is available for any Virginia resident who qualifies for in-state financial aid and whose family income falls below an identified threshold.

These funds are available for those who want to pursue education in high-demand industries. Those include Education, Healthcare, Information Technology, Public Safety and Skilled Trades, and Manufacturing & Construction.
G3 is available for full and part-time students! Our programs are designed for busy schedules. Enrolled students can continue to work while they complete this education.
G3 is a last-dollar state-funded aid program for Virginians who:
- Qualify for in state tuition
- Have total household income falls below an identified threshold
- Are enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a designated G3 program
- Have applied for federal and/or state financial aid
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
How the G3 Program Works
G3 funds can make up the difference between what federal or state financial aid pays for. That means the G3 funds can bridge the gap in tuition and mandatory fees for your chosen eligible major. A book stipend is also available, based on the enrollment level for the semester.
Individuals enrolling in a designated short-term credential program must provide documentation of household income or eligibility for federal assistance programs.
How To Take Advantage of G3
- Apply to Virginia Peninsula Community College
- Complete a FAFSA (or FANTIC for FastForward students)
- Enroll in one of the approved G3 programs
- Students who meet the financial qualifications for G3 will automatically receive the scholarship after other grants and scholarships are applied
