FastForward, Credentials for a Career that Matters
FastForward, formerly known as the Workforce Credentials Grant, may reduce the cost of workforce training programs by two-thirds. Virginia Peninsula offers a number of in-demand industry credential programs that give you the opportunity to pay for one-third of training. Upon successful completion of the program and attainment of the certification the grant will offset the other two-thirds of the cost. Alternative funding streams are available. New FastForward funding will be available July 1, 2018.
Funding through FastForward is limited and available until exhausted.
FANTIC - Financial Assistance for Noncredit Training leading to Industry Credentials
Requests for FANTIC for approved programs will be reviewed on a "first-come, first-served" basis to eligible students. Students awarded FANTIC will pay 10% of the first one-third of the tuition cost of approved FastForward programs.

Peninsula Worklink One-Stop - Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Peninsula Council for Workforce Development's Peninsula Worklink offers a comprehensive range of services to address workforce needs, eligibility may apply for certain services. These services are funded through the U.S. Department of Labor, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Middle College Program
If you are between the ages of 18-24 and need to earn your GED, Middle College is for you! Middle College offers free educational and career training to young adults who did not complete high school. In less than eight weeks, students can earn a GED, enroll in College and begin training for an in-demand career.

Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) Virginia DARS
In collaboration with community partners, DARS provides and advocates for resources and services to improve the employment, quality of life, security, and independence of older Virginians, individuals with disabilities and their families student's monthly benefit.

MyCAA
MyCAA is a career development and employment assistance program that helps military spouses pursue licenses, certificates, certifications and some Associate's Degrees necessary for in-demand fields and occupations. Qualified spouses will receive a maximum education benefit of $4,000 with an annual fiscal year cap of $2,000. Assistance is available for eligible spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2.

Veterans Affairs (VA)
Active duty service members, veterans, and their qualified dependents may be eligible for VA education benefits. Virginia Peninsula provides services and information to assist students in establishing eligibility for and receipt of VA education benefits. The Department of Veterans Affairs determines student eligibility for benefits.
For Workforce Development classes, the VA may pay tuition and fees directly to the College if a student is using Post 9-11 or Veteran Readiness & Employment benefits. Students using Chapter 35 (DEA), Chapter 30 (MGIB-A), and Chapter 1606 (MGIB-S) will receive a monthly stipend from the VA based on enrollment; thus, these students will be required to pay tuition and fees upon enrolling in classes.
