Located in James City County, the Virginia Peninsula Community College Trades Center offers short-term training to meet the expanding need for skilled workers in construction and building trades. Training at the Center replicates actual worksites of welding, CNC machining, carpentry, and masonry technicians. Building and Construction Trades

Students gain hands-on experience in a realistic shop setting where they must demonstrate specific proficiencies. Program content provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment as a welder, carpenter, machinist, Facilities Maintenance or brick masons and block masons.

Accelerating and Enhancing Career Education Programs (AECE) is a $2,050,925 project; $1,686,258 (82%) funded through a Federal USDOL-ETA grant and $364,667(18%) through non-federal resources.
