Creating
fun
and
engaging
activities
for
students
is
Kadisia
Archer's
passion.
The
coordinator
of
student
life
and
leadership
has
been
at
Thomas
Nelson
since
2006.
"Every
day
I'm
motivated
by
our
students.
They
have
so
much
hope
for
the
future.
They
have
so
many
ideas
and
passion;
it
makes
me
use
my
creativity
to
make
activities
happen,"
she
said.
As an alumna of Baldwin Wallace College, which is now a university, she receives regular communications about the need to donate to her alma mater. She stated, "When I receive mailings from my alma mater, I see how students' experiences are transformed because of a gift. I know Thomas Nelson students are also similarly impacted from our gifts."
With her knowledge of student need and the impact of giving to an educational foundation, Kadisia is a strong supporter of the Thomas Nelson Educational Foundation. She declared, "I work directly with students. I see and know their needs. I've known students who have rode their bikes to school to participate in student leadership activities and perform community service in addition to attending class."
The Student Emergency Fund is close to Kadisia's heart. "Our students have true needs, human needs. They need our support. The Student Emergency Fund is there to meet needs beyond our students' control," she asserted.
Gifts, large and small, make an impact. Kadisia challenges all of us to, "Give $20 a paycheck. You won't miss it. Twenty dollars a paycheck is two lunches at Panera. Skip a lunch at your favorite spot and be a force for good in our students' lives."
