Healthcare facilities need you. Virginia Peninsula Community College’s Nursing associate degree program offers several options for aspiring nurses.

Designed to meet the needs of hospitals and other healthcare agencies on the Virginia Peninsula, the curriculum will prepare you for entry-level employment as a registered nurse as well as continued study at a four-year institution.

Complete 500 hours of clinical instruction during the program, and gain hands-on experience as early as your first semester at local healthcare facilities such as Sentara Careplex, Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Riverside Regional Medical Center and Bon Secours facilities on the Virginia Peninsula. Virginia Peninsula’s Nursing associate degree program is approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

Possibilities

Virginia Peninsula’s Nursing program will prepare you for entry-level employment as a registered nurse as well as studies at a four-year institution. Hampton University, Norfolk State University, Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University are just a few four-year institutions that allow nursing students to use their course credits completed at Virginia Peninsula toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Students have an option to co-enroll at Virginia Peninsula and Old Dominion University to earn a BSN just three months after completing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing at Virginia Peninsula.
