From the classroom to the accounting office. You’re just an associate degree away from an accounting job. Virginia Peninsula’s Accounting program will groom you for your first job in the field or help you update your skills if you’re already working in the accounting industry.
The curriculum blends accounting concepts and skills with financial applications and accounting standards. Study payroll accounting, fraud examinations, computer applications and more. The courses will also prepare you to take the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) national certification exam.
Possibilities
After completing an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting, you’ll be ready for entry level positions as a bookkeeper, payroll clerk, billing clerk, cost clerk, audit support specialist or tax preparer. You’ll also be qualified for entry-level positions as a junior accountant, accounting technician, fiscal technician and internal auditor.
