She heard about Virginia Peninsula Community College, and its Associate of Applied Science degree in Photography immediately caught her attention. That is what sparked her to enroll. Torres completed her degree in May 2015.
After years of trying to figure out what to do with her life, Angelica Torres had a revelation. She discovered a passion for photography, and knew a degree in the field would make a huge difference. However, doubt and fear thwarted her attempts to enroll in college many times. "The years passed and no matter how bad I wanted it, I could not muster the confidence and drive to start working on my degree," she said.
Torres moved to Hampton, Va. from Great Lakes, Illinois when the U.S. Navy assigned her husband to the region.
