Virginia Peninsula opened up a new path for the veteran U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal once he immersed himself in campus life.
Hampton resident Jerry Van Harris enjoyed several years as an entrepreneur thriving in a trade he loves, commercial construction. Looking to expand his repertoire and grow his business, he enrolled at Virginia Peninsula Community College in 2010 for training and academic credentials in HVAC. He completed his degree in May 2015.
During the 2014-2015 academic year, Harris was listed for a third year in "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" and was selected for the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa All-Virginia Academic Team. The All-Virginia Academic Team program recognizes outstanding scholarly achievements.
