There’s just something for everyone – young, middle-aged, old – you fit in here, and it’s been great.
Janet Peters always wanted to earn an Associate Degree before her 50th birthday. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother of five, but she never let go of that goal. After taking a few classes at a time over the years, Peters took the last class required for an Associate Degree at Thomas Nelson the summer she turned 50. She completed that degree 10 years ago. "It gave me more confidence to actually go out and get a job in the workforce," she said.
Peters was hired to work in a chiropractor's office and performed routine office duties, but started taking classes again when she wanted to upgrade her skills. Her goal was to earn a medical office assistant certificate before her 60th birthday. Thomas Nelson's availability of hybrid and online courses allowed Peters the flexibility she needed to achieve that goal. "I'm the biggest advocate for Thomas Nelson," Peters said. "There's just something for everyone - young, middle-aged, old - you fit in here, and it's been great."
