I want to get a degree in [a science field] and then go into politics so that I may advocate for scientific research and affect other up and coming scientists.
Thomas Nelson Community College is opening doors for Erick Sola'. Thanks to one of the College's numerous partnerships, he has spent the past two summers conducting scientific research at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) alongside peers in a program called "VCU Bridges to the Baccalaureate: Dream to Goal."
With the goal of inspiring others to change the world, Sola' aims to transfer to VCU to seek a bachelor's degree in biology. He believes Thomas Nelson is the perfect launching pad to his aspirations. "I want to get a degree in [a science field] and then go into politics so that I may advocate for scientific research and affect other up and coming scientists," he said.
Rich campus life is another benefit Sola' enjoys with membership in the Red Cross Club, International Club and Anime Club. Vice president of the Student Government Association, he is also part of TRiO, a federal program for those who are either first-generation college students, low-income or have a documented disability.
